HYDRAULIC ANALOGY

Animation to understand the difference between voltage and current

Description:

When we talk about the current of a river we see what it is. But we can ask ourselves the question "why is water moving?" Water starts to move when there is either a difference in altitude between two points, or a difference in pressure. In electricity the cause is voltage.

Definition

Voltage: electric pressure.

Current: flow of electricity which results from the ordered directional movement of electrically charged particles.
